Jean Meilleur

Jean Meilleur is a highly skilled, top-rated photographer based in Miami.

He has been holding a camera since he was eight years old, when his father's camera first inspired his passion for photography. While in high school, he purchased his first camera and started shooting professionally. He hasn't stopped since. In 2023 he founded Alpha Shooting LLC and built it around the work he does best.

He specializes in proposals, capturing the one second where she realizes what's happening, the hands going up, the face changing. Miss it and it's gone forever. He also shoots elopements, couples, families, graduations, birthdays, beach and studio sessions, and lifestyle work all over Miami.

Through Airbnb, Jean has photographed hundreds of people from around the world, families from Texas, couples from Paris, birthday groups on boats, first-timers who had never stood in front of a real camera. Different languages, different personalities, different levels of please don't make me pose. You learn to read people fast. You learn that a shoot only works if it actually feels good while it's happening.

So that's what he brings. Good vibes, energy, jokes, whatever the moment needs. Most people tell him before a shoot that they aren't photogenic, or that they hate pictures of themselves. He hears it constantly. So he directs you the whole way: where to stand, what to do with your hands, where to look. Usually about five minutes in, people forget the camera is even there, and that's when the photos get good. More than a few clients have said it felt less like a photoshoot and more like hanging out with a friend who happened to have a camera.

Jean is also a location expert. He knows Miami, the light, the timing, the spots most people walk right past. If you don't know where you want to shoot, he'll tell you with confidence, whether that's Ocean Drive and the Art Deco district, the beach at golden hour, Wynwood's walls, or somewhere you'd never have found on your own.

Outside of photography, Jean is a Computer Science student at FIU. It's part of why he notices the small things. The look between two people. The laugh in between the poses.

A photo is the one thing you keep from a day you can't repeat. That's why he takes it seriously.
